Isle of Man Creamery is committed to protecting the environment and cutting down our use of single use plastic as much as possible. We have a target to reduce plastic in the business by 100 tonnes in 2021 and forming a large part of that will be the introduction of a new paper-based cheese wrap.
Soon you will start the see the new packaging on all our pre-packaged cheese, with a tactile white paper outer the wrap is made from 53% sustainable and renewable materials that are FSC certified and contains 38% less plastic than our existing cheese packaging. In addition to the new packaging material, we have also taken the opportunity to update our branding to mirror the design of our grass-fed milk and cream, including a depiction of the farmers that make up the cooperative which provides Isle of Man Creamery with every drop of milk used in our products.
Some other changes you might notice include our new packaging methods which means that the wrap on the cheese will no longer ‘shrink’ down around the block of cheese, instead it will be a loose pack which allows the labels to be stuck on with much more accuracy. We have also changed the name of our brand ‘Celtic Red’ to ‘Isle of Man Creamery Vintage Red Leicester’.
Our customers should start to see the new packaging appearing on their doorsteps and in local stores over the next few weeks, please let us know your thoughts!
