Position: Machine Operator – Pre Pack

Job Purpose:
To assist the cheesemakers with the manufacture of bulk cheese & additive cheese
Principle Accountabilities:
Ensuring that all equipment and machinery is operated and maintained to a satisfactory level of hygienic cleanliness and efficiency.
· To have a hands-on approach to all production activities,
· Assist with the training & development of new staff to achieve high standards of performance
· Complete all paperwork as required
· Maintain a safe & tidy working environment
Hours of Work:
Monday – Friday approx. 7am – 4pm (dependent upon work schedule)

Position Milk Fridge Operator
Department: Logistics
Reports to: Chilled Stores and Distribution Manager
Job Purpose:
To accurately and safely receive, store and despatch products ready for delivery to Isle of Man customers.
Principle Accountabilities:
· To accurately record all receipts from internal and external suppliers.
· To allocate storage space and to rotate stock either by FIFO or as requested by the Chilled Stores and Distribution Manager or Logistics Manager.
· To accurately pick products and record transactions (including product dates) to meet customer requirements.
· To accurately record the movements of miscellaneous movements i.e. ‘breakbacks’, returns to production etc.
· To assist in stock counts / reconciliations as required.
· To maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
· To undertake such additional duties which may be requested by Management.
Hours of Work:
· An average of 39 hours per week worked on a 7 day rota basis to include weekends.
· 4 shift patterns incorporating early morning starts and a nightshift (nightshift normally once every four weeks).

Position: Technical Team Leader
Department: Technical
Reports to: Technical Manager
PURPOSE:
The Technical Team Leader’s role includes:
The responsibility for the day to day running of the Laboratory and maintenance of its CLAS accreditation whilst also taking an active role in the Food Safety and Quality management system within the organization.
Principle Accountabilities:
1. Day to Day supervision of the laboratory technicians and laboratory activities including sampling and testing. Maintenance of Laboratory procedures and records and document control systems.
2. Day to day organization of Producer payment sample testing, review of results and appropriate action on non-conformances, with direct communication to producers. Maintenance of producer Red Tractor information.
3. Train laboratory staff in procedures and methods and keep training records. Undertake witness method audits as part of the Laboratory internal audit.
4. Conduct 6 monthly performance reviews with Laboratory Technicians and identify training needs and plans with Technical manager.
5. Implement and maintain CLAS Laboratory Accreditation status to assure accuracy and confidence in the reporting of laboratory results to the various departments within the production environment and to producers requesting analyses.
6. Organisation of Internal and External laboratory proficiency testing, collation of results, reporting and following up non conformances.
7. Create internal reports on Quality performance, including lab records, external quality assessment reports and environmental controls when requested.
8. To be part of the HACCP Team and contribute to the studies for HACCP on all products and conduct CCP audits on site.
9. To be a part of the Internal Auditing Team and audit according to schedule. Identify and agree corrective actions and timely closeout.
10. Organisation and undertaking site hygiene and fabric inspections, agreeing corrective actions and verifying close out.
11. Deputising for Technical Manager in their absence
12. Understand laboratory testing and cover job roles for the laboratory technicians during holidays and absences.
13. To Provide out of hours emergency Antibiotic Testing as required.
14. Responsible for investigation/trouble shooting and issuing of non-conforming work reports within the lab.
15. Responsible for lab stock management and ensuring adequate availability for all chemicals, reagents and test materials within the laboratory.
16. To understand and ensure conformance to the relevant EU, UK and Isle of Man Dairy legislations and Food Safety Act, together with a working knowledge of General Health & Safety regulations and their implications to the business.
Reporting framework
The Technical Team Leader reports to the Technical Manager who is responsible for ensuring the following activities are carried out:
· Personal Development Plan is discussed and agreed with the post holder;
· Review and assessment of the job holder’s performance and competency behaviours is made; and
· Performance and Development Review meeting is conducted.
